Some people walk in and the room rearranges itself.
Floral, gourmand, radiant. It says so on the label.
Queen of Hearts is a floral gourmand perfume for women. It opens bright with mandarin, black currant and petitgrain. Lavender and orange blossom lead into a heart of jasmine. Then Madagascar vanilla, cedar, ambergris and musk melt into a warm glow on the skin. It's an extrait de parfum with 40–45% fragrance oil. If you love YSL Libre, you'll know this family.

Ten notes. One queen.
The label promises three things. Here is what each word means, and the ten notes that keep the promise. Tap any card to turn it over.
Floral
Orange blossom, jasmine and lavender. White flowers with a clean, herbal edge.
Gourmand
Madagascar vanilla and black currant. Gourmand is perfume-speak for notes you could almost eat.
Radiant
Mandarin, petitgrain, ambergris and musk. Sparkle on top and a warm shine underneath.
And cedar? It's the frame that holds the whole picture together.

- 7:00 pm · first 20 min
The sparkle
Mandarin and black currant come first, bright and a little tart. Petitgrain adds a green snap. This is the part people notice as you walk past.
Mandarin · Black currant · Petitgrain - 7:30 pm · up to 2 hrs
The bloom
Lavender softens the citrus. Then orange blossom and jasmine open up: floral, creamy and clean. This is the heart of the perfume.
Lavender · Orange blossom · Jasmine - 9:30 pm · 2 to 5 hrs
The glow
Vanilla rises under the flowers. Cedar keeps it from getting too sweet, and the ambergris accord adds a warm, salty shine.
Madagascar vanilla · Cedar · Ambergris accord - 12:30 am · 5 hrs and on
The skin scent
Vanilla and musk, close to the skin. The version someone notices when they hug you goodbye.
Madagascar vanilla · Musk
This is the usual path for these notes: light citrus fades first, while vanilla and musk stay longest. Your skin, the weather and the number of sprays all change the timing.
Why extrait matters here
Libre and Mon Guerlain are best known as eaux de parfum. Queen of Hearts is an extrait de parfum. Here is what that means in the bottle.
Oil is the perfume itself. The rest of the bottle is alcohol that carries it to your skin and then dries off. At 40–45% oil, each spray of Queen of Hearts leaves more scent behind than a typical eau de parfum.
Mandarin and petitgrain are light notes that fly off fast. Vanilla, musk and cedar are heavy and slow. More oil gives the bright notes a fuller base to rest on. Ranges come from the standard perfume concentration guide. We explain the numbers in why oil concentration matters.
Same family as Libre. Different strength.
All three put lavender next to warm vanilla. Libre adds orange blossom and a bright citrus top. Mon Guerlain goes softer, with iris and sandalwood. Queen of Hearts follows Libre's note list closely, as our own extrait at 40–45% oil. We don't call it a copy. Smell them side by side and trust your nose.

How many sprays do you need?
It's an extrait, so a little goes a long way. Pick the occasion and the weather, and we'll tell you how much to use and where.
2–3sprays
Where: inner wrists and the base of your throat. Keep it close.
What to expect: a soft floral cloud. People notice it when they lean in, not across the room.
Cool, dry AC air keeps the flowers crisp. No change needed.
The dupatta trick
Spray once on your dupatta or scarf from about 25 cm. Fabric holds vanilla and musk well, and the scent lifts each time you move. On silk, test a hidden corner first.
Don't rub your wrists
Rubbing warms the skin and rushes the bright top notes. Spray, then let it dry on its own.
Moisturise first
Perfume fades faster on dry skin. A plain, unscented lotion underneath gives it something to hold on to.
Lavender isn't a soap smell.
For years, lavender meant one thing to most of us: the soap dish. A lot of soap uses lavandin, lavender's cheaper and sharper cousin. So that's the smell we grew up with.
Then perfumers began pairing real lavender with orange blossom and vanilla, and it became something else. Warm, bright and sure of itself. YSL Libre made that pairing famous, and I'll be honest: I love it.
“I wanted that feeling at extrait strength, at a price you don’t have to think twice about.”
So Queen of Hearts uses the same family of notes, built as our own extrait at 40–45% oil. We don't call it a dupe. If you know Libre, smell both and trust your nose.
Then send it to the woman who walks in and changes the room. And if it isn't right for you, write to hello@godofessence.com. We'll help you find one that is.

Queen of Hearts FAQ
What does Queen of Hearts smell like?
Bright, floral and warm. It opens with mandarin, black currant and petitgrain. Lavender, orange blossom and jasmine form the heart. Madagascar vanilla, cedar, a vegan ambergris accord and musk make up the base. The label sums it up in three words: floral, gourmand, radiant.
Does Queen of Hearts smell like YSL Libre?
It is in the same family. It shares the notes listed for Libre eau de parfum: mandarin, petitgrain, lavender, black currant, orange blossom, jasmine, Madagascar vanilla, cedar, ambergris accord and musk. We don't call it a dupe. It is our own extrait at 40–45% oil. If you know Libre, smell both and trust your nose.
How long does Queen of Hearts last?
We are still wear-testing the first batch, and we will post the real hours here when the tests are done. As an extrait with 40–45% oil, it carries more fragrance oil than a typical eau de parfum. For the longest wear, spray once on a scarf. Fabric holds vanilla and musk well.
Is Queen of Hearts a day or a night perfume?
Both. Two or three sprays work for the office. Three or four suit a date, and four to six suit weddings and festive nights. The citrus keeps it fresh by day, and the vanilla warms up after dark.
Is Queen of Hearts a good wedding perfume?
Yes. Orange blossom has been a bridal flower for nearly two hundred years, and jasmine is the mogra in a gajra. With vanilla underneath, it suits a sangeet, a reception or a wedding dinner. Spray once on your dupatta for a soft trail. More in our wedding perfume guide.
Is the ambergris in Queen of Hearts real?
No. It is a vegan ambergris accord: a blend of notes that recreates its warm, salty-sweet smell. Natural ambergris comes from whales, and we don't use it.
What does floral gourmand mean?
Floral means flowers. Here that is orange blossom, jasmine and lavender. Gourmand means notes you could almost eat, like vanilla and black currant. Together they smell soft and sweet, while citrus and cedar keep it fresh.
What does 40–45% oil concentration mean?
It means 40–45% of what is in the bottle is fragrance oil. The rest is the alcohol that sprays it. An eau de parfum usually holds 15 to 20% oil, and an eau de toilette 5 to 15%. More oil leaves more scent behind once the alcohol dries.
How many sprays of Queen of Hearts should I use?
Two to three for the office, three to four for a date, and four to six for weddings and festive nights. Spray on your neck and inner wrists. Don't rub your wrists together. Let it dry on its own.
Does Queen of Hearts work in Indian heat?
Yes. In hot, humid weather, use one spray less, because heat makes perfume project more. Put it on pulse points and on fabric rather than all over your skin. In AC or on cool evenings, no change is needed.
Is Queen of Hearts safe for skin?
It follows IFRA standards, the global safety rules for fragrance ingredients. It is paraben-free, phthalate-free, vegan and not tested on animals. If your skin is sensitive, patch test on your inner arm first, or spray it on your clothes. Read more in the IFRA Standards Library.
Can I try Queen of Hearts before buying a full bottle?
Yes. Add it to the Discovery Set: 5 scents of your choice in 10 ml sprays for ₹1,299. Wear it two or three times, in AC and in heat, before you decide. Build your Discovery Set.
Can I send Queen of Hearts as a gift?
Yes. Add gift wrap for ₹199 and ship it straight to her address. Orders ship within 24 hours. Not sure of her taste? The Discovery Set lets her choose for herself. Pick a line to send her.
How fast is delivery, and can I return it?
Orders ship within 24 hours. Metro cities usually get it in 2 to 3 days, and other cities in 3 to 5 days. Shipping is free above ₹999. Sealed, unopened bottles can be returned within 7 days of delivery, and if a bottle arrives damaged, we replace it. Email hello@godofessence.com to start.
