Most fresh-woody colognes come as eau de toilette or eau de parfum. The citrus opening is gorgeous, then it fades by lunch because the base can't hold it. More oil means a base dense enough to carry the whole structure. Industry ranges come from the standard perfume concentration guide.

Founder's note

Why we made Noir Magnet

I wanted to bottle a feeling: walking into a room and not needing to announce yourself. No loud opening. No sugar bomb. Just a presence people adjust to.

The clean woody-fresh style already does that better than anything. The trouble is that most versions lose it by lunch. The citrus opens beautifully, then the base can't hold the structure, and in a Mumbai July it's simply gone.

So we built the base first and pushed the oil to 40–45%. That's what lets polished woods and musk carry the scent through the day, and through the heat. We tested it in summer, reworked it, and tested again. If it doesn't suit you, write to hello@godofessence.com and tell us why. We read every message.

What does Noir Magnet smell like?

Clean, fresh and woody. It opens with bergamot, apple zest and a cool spice. Lavender, geranium and a dry spice make up the heart. Polished woods, clean musk and amber form the base. Think of a pressed white shirt and a warm wooden desk.

How long does Noir Magnet last?

In our wear tests it lasts 12 to 16 hours on skin and more than 48 hours on fabric. Our first buyer gets 11 to 12 hours from five to six sprays. Your skin, the heat and your clothes all change the result.

Is Noir Magnet a dupe of Dior Sauvage or Boss Bottled?

No. It is an original God of Essence perfume in the same clean, woody-fresh family. It shares a lavender and spice heart with Sauvage Eau de Parfum, and apple, geranium and wood with Boss Bottled. Noir Magnet is made at extrait strength and costs a small part of the price.

What does 40–45% oil concentration mean?

It means 40–45% of what is in the bottle is fragrance oil. The rest is the alcohol that sprays it. An eau de parfum usually holds 15 to 20% oil, and an eau de toilette 5 to 15%. More oil leaves more scent behind once the alcohol dries.

How many sprays of Noir Magnet should I use?

Use five to six sprays for the office, on the chest, collarbone and back of the neck. For evenings and events, go up to ten to twelve, and add a few inside your blazer lining. Use a little less in hot, humid weather.

Is Noir Magnet good for office wear?

Yes. With five to six sprays it reaches about three to four feet in an AC office. The lavender and spice heart reads clean and confident, and it won't fill a meeting room.

How is Noir Magnet different from King of Blues?

King of Blues is brighter and more herbal, built on ginger, sage and juniper. Noir Magnet is warmer, with a lavender and spice heart and an amber and wood base. It stays longer and suits evenings as well as the office. Many people wear both. See King of Blues.

Is Noir Magnet safe for skin?

It follows IFRA standards, the global safety rules for fragrance ingredients. It is paraben-free, phthalate-free, vegan and not tested on animals. If your skin is sensitive, patch test on your inner arm first, or spray it on your clothes. Read more in the IFRA Standards Library.
